Why We’re Different

We’re based right here in Rhode Island — not commuting from Boston or New York. That means no travel fees, no traffic uncertainty, and deep relationships with the venues and planners we work with every season. We know the rooms, the acoustics, and the flow of a Rhode Island wedding — because this is home.

Rhode Island Proud

We’re not a rotating roster of hired musicians. We’re an actual band that plays together year-round. That chemistry translates into tighter grooves, seamless transitions, and a performance that feels cohesive — not pieced together. When you book us, you get the band you’ve seen and heard.

A Real Working Band

With repertoire spanning from Django Reinhardt to Frank Sinatra, our foundation is jazz. From elegant ceremony and cocktail hours to high-energy celebrations, we play both sides of the genre effortlessly: polished for the aisle and wild on the dance floor.

  • Albert played the music during our wedding ceremony which made the whole event so special. His accordion style made a large wedding feel intimate and romantic. We will remember it sweetly forever!

  • They were terrific and very easy to work with, friendly and accommodating!

    Karen M. (Stamford, CT)

  • Paper Moon were absolutely incredible — talented, warm, and a joy to work with for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. The trio arranged three songs from Stevie Wonder & Bill Withers for our walk down the aisle, making the ceremony feel deeply personal. Their musicianship and generosity of spirit set the perfect tone, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly.

FAQs

  • Paper Moon Jazz Band can be tailored to fit the mood and size of your celebration. We offer everything from an intimate jazz duo or trio for cocktail hours, to a lively five or six-piece band that keeps the dance floor full all night.

Whether you’re imagining an elegant background soundtrack or a full-swing dance set, we’ll match the lineup to your vision, venue, and budget. You can explore our music packages here.

  • Our standard music package includes:

    • Up to four 50-minute sets of live music

    • Professional sound equipment and setup/breakdown

    • Background music between sets

Clients often add special touches like ceremony music, wireless microphone for speeches or even a custom arrangement of your favorite song.

Here is more information about our music packages.

  • We’ll work closely with your planner, venue coordinator, or day-of contact to make sure everything runs seamlessly. From setup to sound check, we arrive well in advance so the music flows right on cue. We can perform during your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, or reception—whatever fits best.

  • We keep things simple! Here’s what we typically need:

    • A flat, covered space large enough for the chosen band size (about 8’x12’ for a quartet)

    • Access to power outlets

    • A safe, shaded, or indoor area for instruments (especially in hot or rainy weather)

    • If outdoors, a backup plan in case of inclement weather

We bring our own sound system and lighting unless your venue already provides it.

  • We recommend booking at least 3 – 9 months in advance, especially for peak wedding and event seasons (spring and fall). To secure your date, we ask for a 50% deposit with the remaining balance due on the day of the event.

If your plans change, we understand—life happens! We’ll work with you to reschedule when possible, and our cancellation terms are clearly outlined in your agreement for peace of mind.
